Work hard. Don't abandon your passion just because you won't make money or get a job right away (Beth McCarthy Miller)
It is so easy, especially in the fashion industry, to dream of becoming a Creative Director or the head of merchandising for example. Miller’s story shows that even though you may not make it to have this title, or to the top of the company, right away there is the potential for it if you work hard at something you are passionate about.
The passionate part is essential, though- as McCarthy explains, recognition is given to people who continually show the passion they have for a specific industry or niche. Miller acknowledges that everyone needs money to survive, but she encourages the reader to continue on and make sacrifices because if you do what you love, you will become successful.
